Anne Gilbert is the second person to testify on library value. She spoke to the Council as a writer and citizen. She acknowledged how fortunate she is to have library resources. “I was there (at Central Library) on the first day of the furlough,” she said, “and I met a person who was trying to use the job resource center. He was disappointed that the library wasn’t open. Libraries have the most extensive job search resources in the area,” she said. In closing she asked for restoration of library funding.
