Upcoming Community Meetings on proposed 2010 Budget

The City will be holding 3 budget hearings this month  for the public to speak directly to council members and share their concerns about the proposed 2010 budget.  The 2010 proposed budget would close 21 branch libraries on Friday and Sunday and reduce their remaining operating hours. The Library needs  strong public voices to urge Council members to restore our neighborhood operating hours.  Please come to these hearings. This is your chance to not only get involved in a matter that affects your local neighborhood but to join the city wide movement to restore access to our beloved neighborhood libraries.
The first hearing is Wed Oct 7 at Whitman Middle School Auditorium in the north end of Seattle at 9201 15th Ave NW.
GrandDayThe second hearing is Wed Oct 14th at The NW African American Museum Legacy Gallery in the south end of Seattle at 2300 Massachusetts st.
The final hearing is Mon Oct 26th downtown at City Council Chambers, 2nd floor, 600 Fourth Ave.
All hearings start at 5:30 with sign in to speak beginning at 5:00.
RSVP if you can come and would like more information advocacy@friendsofspl.org.
